No real danger for us on our beach visits but the sign clearly shows dangers from falling rocks. Years of errosion caused by winds, tides and sea spray softens the already soft sand stone which surround the small coves - so enjoy all the beach has to offer just keep a look out for any fallen rocks on the beach and if you see any don't sunbath there - keep a close eye on the kids and don't let them add to the damage by climbing on the rocks.

If you hire a car and intend to visit Alte - make sure it is a small hired car complete with air conditioning especially useful in summer's heat. The streets are very narrow and cobbled with thick stone. Once when driving in the narrow streets trying to get out of the village we turned a blind corner only to be faced with a flight of steps running down the whole street. Every one in the small street came out to watch the crazy tourists bump their way down.
