Lanzarote, unlike it's sister islands, small is beautiful - no crowded high rise apartments or hotels. Island of contrasts - white sand - black ash - lush vegitation - unusual farming methods. All year round sunshine - relaxing Great place for some winter sunshine. Costa Tequise is a laid back resort while Puerto del Carmen is more lively. The so called strip in PDC is very touristy & a bit tacky but the old town is lovely with it's harbour & great bars serving great seafood. |
| | Evidence of volcanic activitiy all around Rocks,Rocks and more rocks..............Green pool created after volcanic erruption caused by mineral and salt deposits. |
Puerto del Carmen Lovely walk along the sea wall with great views of the sandy beaches | | |

Nemorino Fri Sep 25, 2009 12:22 UTC Looks like a great place to visit an active volcano. And learn about cacti. | lynnehamman Tue Apr 28, 2009 12:04 UTC Another nice page,Joan. Photos are lovely. What a shame you could not use that great blue pool! The cacti look fascinating-I collect them, so would love to see. | starship Thu Apr 2, 2009 19:36 UTC I'd love to visit the Canary Islands but if it's really hot & humid, I'd have to sightsee in early morning or early evening!! | jumpingnorman Fri Feb 20, 2009 00:13 UTC OMG, look at that turqouise beach, and an active volcano too! Wow...and I also like your picture by the beach (wind blown and hot!) Norman :) |
