If you thought that Egypt was simply the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, your are wrong. Those sights are fascinating but nothing compared to what is here. The best way to take in the Nile valley is to spend a 3-4 days in Luxor and sail down to Aswan on a Dahabiyya. A Dahabiyya is a traditional boat with 2 sails. It travels by wind power and when that fails, is pulled by a tug boat.
My tips will give you an itenarary of what we did in Luxor and what we did on the cruise. This is intended to give you an idea of how many days to plan for. Keep in mind that I traveled with my wife and 12 month old daughter. |
