Modern and Cosmopolitan China

by Nemoa - last update: Jan 23, 2005

I was very well surprised by Shanghai as I thought it would be some of a traditional China city but it happened to be one of the most modern and cosmopolitan places I have visited.

I have to admit that I had lots of fun and some other adventures and that I did not find it as easy to roam around as HK probably because the English Language is not as widely spoken but still we managed to cope quite well with it and we managed to see quite a lot of the city and enjoy ourselves.

I was there in January and I have to say that I will not come back there in the same season as the weather was total hell. V. cold and dry and windy. Not very enjoyable to roam around in that weather, believe me.

Nevetherless, I had fun and managed to get plenty of pics, for you guys and gals. Hope you enjoy them.

Pros:"Modern and cosmopolitan and v.v.intersting city of contrast."
Cons:"extreme weather and English not very widely spoken. But that adds up to the fun !! Ah! careful with people older than 25 years: they spit!! (sorry if any of them reading this... this is all about personal experiences, innit??)"
In A Nutshell:"Get a warm coat and lots of courage and enjoy yourself!!"

Nice! How could I miss this page? :) I like the Pearl Tower (u know I like highrise buildings). That garden is unbelievable .. I could have spent four hours inside (I suppose you did that too). Great food in China isn't it? :)
