"One of the most cosmopolitan places or Earth-Dubai" Dubai by Nemoa

Dubai has become one of the most cosmopolitan cities of the world in only some 50 years.
There is lots of activity and you will see the most traditional sights like the Dhows sailing the Creek next to some of the most impressive skycrapers you will ever see.
And whenever you walk on the city, shop in the ultra modern shopping centres or sail the Creek remember that 50 years ago this was the desert populated by few fishermen and camels and you just be even more impressed if such a thing is possible !
I know that a lot of people come to Dubai mainly to sunbathe or to make business.
But always remember that this is an Islamic country where the traditions count very mcuh and the religion is at the very centre of the city life.
You only have to walk around the city to realise. There is a mosque every 300 m. and 5 times a day you will hear the call to the prayer from the top of the dozens of minarets across the city.
Never forget to respect the local customs, whether you do agree or not with them.
But do not forget that there is room for fun too!
The beaches of Dubai offer a little piece of paradise without any need to go as far as the Caribbean. Or so I thought... The turquoise sea and the palm trees are just a few km away from the desert! Believe it or not.
Do not forget either that all or most of these beaches are artificial. That gives you an idea of the big effort that the government of this country has made to attract tourism and not to rely only on its (small) reserves of oil.
In any case, the blue of the sea, next to the white of the sand, next to the green of the parks, next to the red of the desert sand gives you the best of all worlds!
I enjoyed myself like crazy here...
If you are planing a visit to Dubai do not forget to come in Winter !! In summer it is too hot (50 degrees C) and you won't be able to leave your hotel. I came in November and the average temperature was 25 degrees C
- Pros:Beautiful weather and beaches and desert and architecture and....
- Cons:Ladies won't feel very much at home here outside the shopping centre, that is... :-)
- In a nutshell:Beautiful sea and desert and the best shopping in this part of the hemisphere
