I would recommend Ko Lanta as a base to go to the other islands, Ko Haa, Ko Phi Phi,,, for snorkelling or diving.

Very quiet although quite spoilt and bearing some signs of the tsunami, but a very good option to rest and enjoy paradise.

It seems to be backpackers paradise but you can find some nice resorts like the Narima or the Sri Lanta and a luxury one, the Pimalai so all your needs are covered here.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Nice weather, nice sea landscape.
Cons:Nice backpacker congestion and nice sunami rubbish in the beach... :(
In a nutshell:Come and see by yourself.
