The port town, Bridgetown

A Pear-Shaped Island

Barbados' port town, Bridgetown, is home to the large and small ships.Bridgetown is the capital and commercial center also. It was originally named "Indian Bridge" for the bridge which had been constructed by the Indians. Later it was called the "town of St. Michael" before finally being named Bridgetown when a new bridge was built in place of the Indian Bridge, sometime after 1654.
Oil rigs??

Another "side" of Barbados

Actually, I'm not quite sure why this picture was taken. Perhaps just to show the industry on the island. Obviously not a tourist destination, right??
The coastline

Plush Resorts

Along what is known as Barbados' "Platinum Coast", posh resorts line the beaches, beckoning travelers to return and stay a while...oh, I wish.

Pros:"Lots to see and do, a very popular spot, but known to be a bit pricey."
Cons:"?? I'm not sure. I didn't get to explore Barbados enough."
In A Nutshell:"I would like to return and see the island form land next time!"
