The seven hills of South East London

Crystal Palace - view from Westow Hill
South East London doesn't feature heavily in tourist guides.
Even London-based event guides. like 'Time Out', qualify a good review of a South London joint with "Unfortunately, it is in South London" or "This place would be great if you didn't have to trek through South London to get to it". The word 'trek' always features in these reviews - as if you are small beleagured husky team traversing the snowy arctic wastes, instead of hopping on a bus or train for a short trip.

I have decided to put matters right.
Over the next few months I will be featuring a whole range of South East London attractions. Local tips for local people.
Crystal palace
South east London really does have seven hills like Rome..

Did you know it also has the Eiffel tower ? ....
Crystal Palace park
...and Egyptian scupture?

So do you have some fun plans for your upcoming birthday? Pehaps belly dancing lessons or an evening at the Rivoli? ;-) Whatever you do I hope you have a grand time! Jill

Many of these places have never seen a tourist. Maybe these reviews will inspire the more intrepid VTers to venture outside the central London themepark and visit these friendly places where you can meet the locals.
