Crockett is a small, unincorpoated port and industrial town on the Carquinez Strait, leading from the San Francisco Bay to the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers.

Founded in the late 1860s, it grew as the company town for C&H (California & Hawaiian) Sugar, to which its fotrunes have been tied ever since. Although C&H was bought out by corporate investors in the 1990s, it still operates the massive brick sugar factory on the waterfront, which dominates the town. Situated on a hillside up from the water, tt has a rather dead but somewhat attractive little downtown and some small old neighbourhoods in a nice hilly setting.
