Las Vegas - "Its DisneyLand for adults"

by Graeme_Webb - last update: Dec 29, 2006

On route to Vegas
I've been to Vegas Twice now and I'm booked to go back again in March.
Vegas Its great What can I say, Yea it's kind of like Disneyland but for adults. The size of the hotels and the Casinos are just huge, it really is like you see in the movies.
So why do I like Vegas SO much? Well its hard to explain, if you've been you'll understand, you just cant understand the scale of the place. Its easy to get caught up though and this is my warning, remember its just like Disneyland, you know you go to Disneyland and they have a rollercoaster which looks like its wrapped around some sort of rock, but on closer inspection you can see the rock is fake. Vegas is the same, I noticed this on my second trip, the bright lights and $ signs distract you but if you look closer Vegas is false.
I tend not to look too hard because it could ruin what is a superb experience.
Just be aware, everything and i do mean EVERYTHING in Vegas has been designed to extract as much money from you as possible. Seriously, be careful. Here are a few examples, walk into any Casino, there is no natural light, why? so once you are inside you dont know what time it is outside, so you could end up going in when its light spending hours and hours and not realising its dark outside. The same reason there are no clocks. They also pump the casino full of oxygen, why because if you dont feel tired, you wont go to bed and the more money you will gamble. And those free drinks you get while gambling, not free because your gambling and getting drunk and the more drunk you get the more money you will blow.
See my General tips on how to enjoy Vegas with out blowing a hole in your wallet.
