Getting TO/AROUND: OK, not the most relevant picture, but it's got cars in it! I couldn't decide how to use it otherwise and I liked it- the cars spoil it though! Anyway, Aberdeen has got a bit of a problem with car-parking, finding a space can be a nightmare I believe- I only use 2 wheels, so I don't suffer, but when my friends came recenlty in a hire car, we had to move the car from outside my place in the morning, park down the docks (beyond this pic) while we were walking around, and collect it later. If leaving down there, it's certainly best to leave nothing in it, let alone in view. Dodgy area!

'Mode': TO

Getting TO/AROUND: This could well be for Car, Bicycle, Camper, Bus or of course Motorbike. I just want to say that the road up here from Edinburgh and indeed Glasgow, Perth, Dundee and simply England, the A90, is a very fast and easy route to follow. Also at times it is quite scenic, particularly around the Perth/Dundee area and again near Stonehaven when you hit the coast. Of course a stop here is really nice. Nearer to Aberdeen there is a place called Muchall's Bridge where there is a big sweeping right hand bend (into Abz), which can be fun on a bike, but sometimes can be scary- depending on weather and traffic. It has a good surface here though. The A90 does go straight into the heart of Abz (no by-pass) through the southern district of Torry, arriving near to the Station or West End. Watch out though, lots of speed cameras (and occasional Radar guns on the roads into town).

They claimed that the oil would only last 20 years when it was discovered in the 60's but technology and recovery are getting better all the time so were safe for a bit yet | iaint Sun May 20, 2007 13:30 UTC fascinating; its my mum's hometown, and I lived there 7 years |
