    • The sleepy little capital of the Seychelles is worth a visit for half a day - it won't take you much longer than that! The market is quite nice, the clock tower and the botanical gardens. A few shops to help you be parted from your cash. That's it.

    • The gardens were established in 1901 and it covers around six hectares with almost 500 different plants. As it is mostly on the flat, it is a really pleasant place to walk around, very peaceful and beautifully landscaped.

    The gardens are open 08.00 to 17.00 and there is a charge of US$ to enter.

    • I should imagine that one of the main reasons you have come to the Seychelles, has to be the beach. Walking along the beach first thing in the morning, before the rest of the world wakes up, as the only two people on the sand - can anything be more romantic than that?

    • The Seychelles is famous for its giant tortoises, which can grown both enormous and ancient. This partular one we saw on the island of Cerf, but they can be found many places around.

    • This is the easy way to see the reef if you do not want to snorkel or scuba dive. Usually the guide will bring some bread with him to attract the fish, and then pick one up for you to see it really clearly.

    • As part of a round-the-island tour, we had a very interesting guided tour of a tea factory, from the picking, the sorting, the roasting and the bagging. We even bought some samples to take home. .
