Lundy Island Travel Guide: 79 reviews and 234 photos
Lundy is a small island some 10 miles off the North Devon Coast, and it has a long and interesting history.
We visited on a beautiful sunny summer's day and found the island to be absolutely charming.
On a wet and windy winter's day the picture would look much more bleak I am sure.
Lundy is four miles long and half a mile wide at its wides. She rises 400 metres up from the sea.
- Pros:Great walks, remote and desolate
- Cons:A very steep walk up from the sea
- In a nutshell:A great place to get away from it all

wonderful place to relax
I owned a Lundy Island pony. They swim them from the island to the boat to bring them to the mainland. We used to say you could tell the weather by looking at the island "Lundy high, sign of dry"
What a lovely spot and great tips, Grets. Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful birthday.
I came to check out your Sudan page and see youve been to the island where I once lived. Small world! Greetings from Egypt. Chris
What a lovely place to visit Grets, its quite near to me but i have never been. After reading your page and seeing your wonderful pictures i will have to find the time.
I really enjoyed this page Grete. I followed the link from your home page. The photography is wonderful.
Sounds like an invigorating place. An island with grey seals, black rabbits, virtual puffins, its own species of cabbage, and "not short of manure". An interesting new page!
What a wonderful place to visit, Grete. I love the stamp story!! If you are into bird watching, you should go to Fair Isle, they don't have puffin stamps, they have REAL puffins there!!! ;-) Have a great sunday!
Grete, a thoroughly enjoyable page! I did not even know that this speck of land existed until now! As you say, it looks like a place that deserves some time to savour. Lots of excellent photos and informative tips - thank you for sharing!!
What a lovely island,Grete. I would for sure spend the night next time and get the transport up and down the hill.
