"Queenstown - the adrenaline capital" Queenstown by grets

Queenstown Travel Guide: 651 reviews and 1,740 photos

A beautifully scenic setting on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is the adrenaline capital of the South Island. If you are into adventure sports, extreme sports or just normal gentle outdoor activities, you can find it here, in winter as in summer.

Skiing is the obvious winter activity and in summer you can take part in a variety of heart-stopping pursuits: white water rafting, parapenting, sky diving, je boating, bungy jumping, boogey boarding, white water sledging, parachute jumping, but to name a few. We didn't try them all, but did indilge in some (see Sports Travel Tips below)
