When we first came to Delhi in 1988, it was a bit of a culture shock. We were young, naive and inexperienced travellers, and found many aspects of Delhi quite different to our own world.

Most of the pictures and tips are based on our visit back then.

Many years later, in 2005, we returned to Delhi, having travelled widely throughout the world in the meantime, including three more visits to India, we found Delhi much less intimidating, but still very much lacking in charm. We also feel that Delhi is not typical of India, and although most tours of the important sites in India will start here, I would recommend to make your visit short.

Delhi is an experience, isn't it? We enjoyed our brief time there as well. Your first food tip looks like a good one.
