| | Hua Hin is approximately 240km south of Bangkok; located on the western coast of the gulf of Thailand. A small fishing village; in the early 20th century it soon turned into a seaside retreat for those from the city as urbanites followed the lead set by the royal family.
Not as busy or as fashionable as some of the more well known beach resorts in Thailand but it still maintains its traditional charm although this looks like it will soon change as high-rise appartments are starting to appear in the region. These are now stretching towards Cha Am and soon what was once two villages will soon become a surburban sprawl. |
