Vienna Telegraph in September 2005 | Vienna Telegraph September 2005 cover |
And so it happened that we arrived in Vienna and not only passed by. Until then I had only passed by while changing planes at the airport (2002 Austrian Airlines) on my way to Helsinki, or many years ago (1982 Interrail) I changed trains there when coming from Graz and continuing to Hamburg. And still more years ago (1979) I came to the airport from Burgenland (after staying for few weeks with my dear friend Uli in Klagenfurt. ) in order to board a Finnair flight to Helsinki. This time it was the time to see Vienna and visit the Habsburg castles. This happened on our Europe trip in September 2005. We first flew to Finland, changed planes in Vienna and after Finland arrived to Vienna, spent 4 nights and boarded a train to Budapest where we stayed 10 days and after that we returned back to Vienna to board an Austrian airlines flight to Tel-Aviv. What did we do in Vienna? We visited the Habsburg castles, the Jewish Quarter and the synagogue, some museums, we went up the Danube Tower to see spectacular views, we walked around and enjoyed the city. I would go back anytime to see all we had no time to see and to enjoy the city again! More important reading:The best Vienna pages by the greatest Vienna fan themajor. |
