| The great hotel Miramonte |
We arrived in Colares on the 25th of September in the late afternoon after the cruise to Ilha da Berlenga. The drive from Peniche to Colares was beautiful. We stopped at the beach in Ericeira to admire the sea once again, saw Mafra from the distance, passed Sintra. It took us some time to find the hotel Miramonte we had booked already from Israel (via Internet). The hotel is located on the road leading to the beach Praia das Macas. We had to pass most of Colares to get there. Colares is a beautiful place to stay at if you travel by car and want to visit Sintra. Also the beach is only 5 minutes drive away. We spent the evenings by the beach where they have wonderful restaurants.
We stayed there for two nights. We
visited Sintra on the day after our arrival and when we left from Colares we drove via Capo da Roca and Cascais back to Lisbon. |

A beautiful page on this little village! My main memory of it is driving through its narrow streets about 3 times as we were lost trying to find our way to Cabo da Roca and the Sintra Forest!! Your hotel sounds great! |
