"Mapur - Fishing Heaven" Pulau Mapur by Wati

Mapur .....is a fishing Heaven!
My husband & I had been to Mapur twice. To get to Mapur, you have to take a ferry from Singapore to Tanjung Pinang. From there you have to hire a local boatman to bring you to Mapur. It takes around 3 hours to reach our fishing spots. We caught a lot of fishes and some monsters as well. During our recent trip, we went ahead of Mapur towards the South China Sea. I know it is pretty dangerous, cause you never know if there are pirates around but when you are with a local, there shouldn't be a problem. For some seasickeness person, you definately have to eat enough pills......but it was worth it!
