The Mt Fuji Peak from 5ht station
The Japan highest mountain of 3776m above sea level. This is a landmark of Japan which will never miss by most tourist. The beauty of the shape is just like a lady's skirt. The peak is changing color from season to season.I think most of us knew why...When getting closer to the peak, the plants are actually getting sorter and when you reach the peak is actually no plants at all. Most the Japanese can explain. There is also some stories behind this landmark!
The Lavender Field
You can only experience this once a year like sakura on summer. A market is beside whereby you can actually get some!other famous local stuff like fruits....I get some 'momo'...Japanese pronous it.Like an apple.
A view from Kawaguchiko
A great experience to have a full view of the Mount Fuji.
Kawaguchi Lake
This is the only place in Tokyo area you can have a nive view of the Mt. Fuji and Lavender!! The Kawauchi Lake is the 2nd biggest among the Fuji Five Lake. It was originally from 3 lake but after the last eruption its become 5 lake.
Kawaguchi Lake
The Fuji Five Lake region (Fujigoko) is located at the foot of Mount Fuji at an altitude of roughly 1000 meters above sea level in mountainous Yamanashi Prefecture. It is one of the best places to view Mount Fuji from a close distance and a convenient base for climbing the mountain.
Hiking, camping and fishing are among the popular outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the area.
The principal city in the region is Fuji-Yoshida. Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko), the most easily accessible of the five lakes, is located just next to Fuji-Yoshida in neighboring Fuji-Kawaguchiko Town.
The other four lakes are named Yamanaka, Sai, Shoji and Motosu. The latter three are less developed than Lake Kawaguchi, but more difficult to access.
Hot spring
Owakudani is the area around a crater created in the last eruption of Mt. Hakone 3000 years ago. Sulfurous fumes, hot springs and hot rivers can be experienced on a walk in the area. Eggs boiled in the hot springs are said to prolong one's life by seven years and are readily available for sale. How many can you take?
Hakone Shrine
Hakone Shrine stands at the foot of Mt. Komagatake along the shore of Ashinoko. The shrine buildings are hidden in a dense forest, but are well advertised by torii gates standing prominently in the lake and the main street of Motohakone.
Directions: A 5 minute walk from the Motohakone boat pier, which again is a 40 minute bus ride from Hakone Yumoto.
ake Ashi
Ashinoko or Lake Ashi was formed in the caldera of Mt. Hakone after the volcano's last erruption 3000 years ago. Today, the lake with Mt. Fuji in the background is the symbol of Hakone.
Cruise boats, some of which look like pirate ships, connect Motohakone at the one end of the long lake with hotels and small towns located along the lake's shores and offer nice views of the surrounding mountains.
Hakone is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Famous for hot springs, outdoor activities, natural beauty and the view of nearby Mt. Fuji, Hakone is one of the most popular destinations among Japanese and international tourists looking for a break from Tokyo.
