 100% correct. It's a great tip. Also say NO to all those fake centurions etc around the Coloseum, the centurions want 1 to 3 Euro for every photo you take, and frankly they are riff raff. ASK THE PRICE before you buy ANYTHING ANYTIME.

 Don't try this on May the 1st though. May 1st is Labour Day in Italy. Tickets for the Colosseum and for the Palatine only cost EUR 1 each on this day, but you can't buy a ticket for the Colosseum at the Palatine as you would on another day of the year.

 This is a great tip, and if the line is long to get into the Colisseum, climb the Palatine first. It offers many ruins, also a museum, and a magnificent view of the Circus Maximus.
