The new Birmingham | The big wheel in Centenary Square |
Over the last 10 years Birmingham has undergone a great transformation. We have Centenary Square a large open space used for public events and exhibitions. Around the square you will find the REP and Symphony Halls. Cut through the Symphony Hall, stopping to visit the gallery and then you come to the canal basin. Aroung this area are plenty of good resturants, bars, the National Sealife Centre and the NIA arena. Don't forget to vist the New Bull Ring, Mailbox and Custard Factory for the shopping experience. There are some great real ale pubs as well. |
| | Our own St. Pauls Take a 10 minute walk from the centre towards the jewellary quarter and you come upon this tranquel square called St. Pauls, after the church at it's centre. Around the square are a number of galleries and a museum.
More to come very soon. |
Birmingham's version of the Bridge Of Sighs Linking the museum and Gas Hall Galleries, both worth a visit. But there are lots more galleries to visit within a 15 minute walk of New Street Station. One of our favourites is Snap Galleries situated in the Custard Factory. A warren of units converted from teh Birds Custard Factory. This is new Digbeth Bus Station, can't miss it, it's multi-coloured. The Sanp GAllery features musican photographs visit their website for upcoming events: http://www.snapgalleries.co.uk | | |

uglyscot Thu Nov 16, 2006 07:20 UTC Some changes since I was there last. Agree that New St Station is a con- especially when an "Emergency' brings everything to a halt. Where do you go with all your luggage? Drab and dreary to say the least. |
