Not just the Full Monty & Steel We use to visit Sheffield many years ago when a friend was at univserity there. At the time it was a friendly place, had some great pubs and was handy for the Peak DIstrict. Now we visit our son at the university, it's had a lot of work beendone on the city, there's the massive Meadowhall shopping centre not far from centre, although we haven't been, shopping not our thing. But best of all it's still a really friendly place to visit, & the Peak district is still a very short drive/bus or train journey away. |

The Fat Cat & other Pubs This was one place revisit, luckily it was still a haven for real ale drinkers. Also has a good reputation for food, especially vegetarian. See my tip. There are lots of other really good real ale pubs, some of which we managed this time around. To name a few: The Devonshire Cat, The Devonshire Arms, The Nottingham & the Roe Buck. | | |

LizD Sun Jul 3, 2005 21:15 UTC Hi Denise, Long time no hear. Sounds like your still a regular at the real ale pubs. Is the Leadmill still popular with the students? | suvanki Thu Mar 17, 2005 21:56 UTC Hi Denise, Great start to your Sheffield page! I hadn't heard of the hotel, but I'll be able to recommend it to others now! Have you tried the pubs on Trippet Lane yet? or The Bath (off West Street)-traditional Real Ale pubs! Best Wishes, Sue. |
