"Lille European City of Culture" Lille by denise16

From the moment you leave the Eurostar terminal you get a feel of Lille's excitment.
The place is buzzing with exhibits for the culture year but there is also a grandness to the city.
Lille is despective, you think that you could see it all in a day yet we found something new every day.
There are plenty of places to eat or drink, especially around teh Grande Place
Did think it strange that the European City of Culture only had tourist info. in French.

Pity the sand was almost washed away by the rain. Actually from the moment we arrived the rain stopped and it was beautiful.
Lille also had it's own oasis the weekend we were there ~ Marrakesh week.

The thriving heart of Lille

There are some beautiful buildings around. The main square is just one example of Lille's elegance.~ Place du General de Gaulle.
