Fraser Island is the world's largest sand island!!
The island is 120 km long by about 15 km wide and rises in places to 200 metres above sea level. Apart from three or four small rock outcrops, it's all sand, which is mostly covered in vegetation. The island also has about 200 lakes, some of them superb for swimming.
Fraser Island is a delight for those who love fishing, walking, exploring by 4WD or trail bike, and for those who simply enjoy nature. |
