Living the Chicago Life

Birth place of Blues music and famous deep dish pizza, Chicago is anything but ordinary. Where else can you experience the weather of all four seasons in one day :-)
Fun fact for all of those out there who didn't know, Chicago's famous moniker "the Windy City" doesn't refer to the winds that religiuosly blow through the city but for the hot air of politicians (hehehehe). Chicago holds a rich political history and has been host to numerous political conventions.
There is also never a dull moment, with bars, clubs, and 4-star resturants to keep Chicagoans busy and entertained.

Getting Cultural

Chicago's Field Museum is one of my favorite plaes to go and spent the day. Along with the Art Institute, Musuem of Science and Industry and Shedd Aquarium, the Filed Musuem is a beautiful example of Chicago's fine architectural history and love of all things cultural. One can also enjoy an evening at the Joffery Ballet or listening to the beautiful music of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and as long as your in town, why not stop in for an Operatic performance at Chicago's gorgeous Lyric Opera House.

Fun for All Ages

Chicago's Navy Pier is a popular destination for locals and tourists. The colorful pier houses an Imax theater and the new Shakesperare Theater. The main attraction of the pier is its Ferris wheel, where you can see all of Chicago from the top. The best time to ride the Ferris wheel is in the evening when the city is lit up and sparkling from all the lights.

Why you are the only person on VT to mention Gino's East (my Chi favorite) is beyond me. Good tips, thanks for sharing.
