Tavern New Rigas: Traditional Greek music and dancing in the Plaka

If you join the Athens by Night tour organised by G.O. or Chat Tours, you could be taken to the Tavern New Riga in the Plaka district for an evening of Greek food, dancing and music. This place is very popular with the locals and tourists alike and prior reservations are essential. I joined the tour organised by G.O. and it was a memorable evening. Dinner starts late as is the norm in Greece, at 10 pm. This is followed by a medley of Greek traditional songs, dances including belly dancing. If you are fortunate, (or unfortunate) you may be invited up the stage to dance with the dancers.
