The Emporium Suites Bangkok is located on Sukhumvit Road just next to the Emporium Shopping Center. Phrom Phong station is connected directly to the Emporium Shopping Center. It offers superb rooms fully equipped with CD player, kitchenette and king sized bed. The staff are helpful, friendly and go all the way out to cater to your needs.
Unique Qualities: I like the buffet breakfast. Breakfast is served on the 10th floor overlooking the city. It is an international buffet with Western and Thai selections. The fitness center is luxurious - the sauna, pool and gym.

I stayed at the a Counsellor Suite at the Windsor Suites Hotel in 2004. The hotel is the former Embassy Suites Hotel and has been refurbished. Each room is a suite and has a separate living room area. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Asoke BTS station.
Unique Qualities: I like the sumptous buffet breakfast spread at the Windsor Cafe - a good start to the day's activities.

Asia Hotel Bangkok: Cheap hotel with convenient location

The Asia Hotel is a cheap tourist class hotel just one stop from Siam Center. It has a direct link to Ratchathewi BTS station. There is nothing much of interest in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The rooms are very basic and will suffice if you are only spending the night in the hotel to sleep. The buffet breakfast is served in a conference room - a mixture of Western and Thai dishes and not very tasty. However, if you are a budget tourist but don't fancy staying in a hostel at Thanon Khao San, this is a very viable alternative.
Unique Qualities: Directly connected to BTS skytrain station and only one stop from Siam.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel during a recent medical conference in Bangkok. Located at the trendiest intersection of Ratchaprasong junction in Bangkok, it epitomises luxury and opulence. Its facilities are top notch and service standards are impeccable. I would recommend this hotel highly to any business traveller who demands exacting standards of service and facilities.
Unique Qualities: The room which I stayed in was on the top floor, the 22nd floor. It had a great view of the commercial area. I liked the big king-sized bed and the glass writing desk. The in-house health club offers sauna, jacuzzi and gym are of 5-star quality and attracts not only hotel guests but also affluent Thais.

Sofitel Silom Bangkok: Sofitel Silom - superior business hotel in Silom

The Sofitel Silom is located near the heart of the Silom entertainment district. Just a short walk from Chong Nongsi station, the Sofitel is a superior class business hotel. The rooms are fitted with the latest amenities required of a business or leisure visitor but showing signs of ageing. The fitness center is small and so is the pool.
Unique Qualities: Overall, the Sofitel Silom is well located for the business traveller who wants a good hotel near the Bangkok CBD. For the tourist, it is near the night spots of Patpong and the nightlife clubs and bars.
