Rainy day on Khao san - Bangkok

Rainy day on Khao san

Everything a backpacker needs..... Khao San Road Review

Khao San Road is the hub for budget travel around Thailand. Everything a backpacker needs is here. Several travel agents, cheap accomodation, bars, ripped cds and dvd for sale, and other travelers to meet. The beaches are my first pick in Thailand so I wouldn't spend a long time here, but if you're traveling around the rest of SE Asia, then you'll probably be hanging around waiting for your visa in this area.
If you're not a fan of hundreds of other backpackers then avoid this area. Access to the Chao Phraya river and buses. You are in walking distance to the Grand Palace and Wat Po.
If you've made friends around Thailand, you will probably run into them again on Khao San!

Address: T. Khoa San Road (KSR) BKK

MBK Centre - Bangkok

MBK Centre

Shopping in Bangkok!!! Shopping Review

Once you are tired of buying fake T-shirts and sarongs from the Khao San area, Bangkok has many shopping centres to accommodate for the mormost avid shopper. You can go to MBK Centre, Siam Square and so many other mega malls.
Just cruise around on the skytrain and get off at National Stadium for MBK centre, Siam station for Siam square, and Chit Lom and Phlom Chit stations for other malls.
Malls are better because there isn't that much room for bargaining so that headache is reduced.

Directions: In the middle of Bangkok

Holding the python! - Bangkok

Holding the python!

Red Cross Snake Farm Snake Farm Review

If you're looking for a close encounter with snakes, then this snake farm is for you! Right in the heart of Bangkok this place offers a display of several snakes in a half hour show that includes a feeding. Other snakes can also be seen in cages or glass cases. There is also an 80's video to watch as well.
The highlighted snakes are king cobra, mangrove, and of course the python. They milk the venom from the mangrove then feed another snake. The venom is used to create anti venom serum for the whole nation. You can get a picture with a python as well.
It costs about 70 or 80 Baht to get in.

Directions: Intersection of Henri Dunant (eastern terminus of Suriwong) and Rama IV
