The Beginning of a great habit.... | Half way up Ben Nevis - Fort William, Scotland |
For as long as I can remember I've always had this itch to see what this world has to offer. So in this past year I've been travelling around, visiting about 15 countries. I'm going to try and get all my photos and tips on VT but its going to take me a while! All this travelling has done is make me want to move again. I'm sure all of you know - when you catch the travel bug, its in you forever!! |
| | West Coast Canada!! October 2004 You haven't seen Canada unless you have experienced the west. Our tour consisted of 3 weeks - Driving around Whistler, Wells Grey, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff, Calgary, Okanagan, Vancouver, Vancouver island, and Seattle. The Rockies have breathtaking mountains, pristine lakes, gigantic glaciers, and tons of wildlife. Vancouver island provide whale watching, surfing, old growth forests, all in a laid back setting. |
Northern Ireland!! Spring 2004 Northern Ireland is a hidden gem in the UK. It has spectacular coastlines, kms of hiking tracks ranging from easy to intense, lots of interesting history, and you can drive it all within a few weeks! Make sure you get to Northern Ireland if you're in the UK or in Ireland. Even if its only for a few days you'll be surprised what this little country has to offer! | | Turkey! Summer 2003 Turkey was a total shock to me. This was my frist time going to a country that is predominately Muslim. I didn't know what to expect but I defiantely wasn't disapointed. Not only does Turkey have a long and interesting history, beautiful landscapes and beaches, friendly natured locals, and a good party scene, but it is extremely easy to get around! When I was there we had a month of sun with no rain! It was great. Click HERE to check out my page on Turkey! |
Thailand! Summer 2003 and Spring 2004 Thailand is probably my favourite place to party and hang out on the beaches. Everything is at a very cheap price and the food is amazing. It is probably one of the easiest place to travel as a backpacker and the amount of people you meet is incredible. Most travel around SE Asia is through Bangkok, so if you're in the area you cannot miss the islands in the south of Thailand! | In the middle of Amsterdam... |
| | Amsterdam June 2003 3 days after my final day in University I was on a flight with my buddy Matt to Amsterdam. After being trapped in Canada for the past 7 years or so I didn't know what to expect but I was happy that i was traveling! Amsterdam is a very nice city with plenty to offer regardless of the type of scene you are in. If you're into smoking the ganga, there are coffeeshops. If you're into architecture, beautiful buildings are scattered everywhere. Amsterdam is rich in culture and has a great nightlife! Click HERE for my Amsterdam page! |
