I have been to Tibet in July 2004. The objectif of this trip was very limited as I just wanted to visit the most seen place in Tibet. Trekking is not as well organised compared to Nepal and most of the time you are obliged to carry food, stove and tent. Lack of trekking experience is also the reason why I did not make the effort to try to get into the business. Nevertheless, I enjoyed 100 % every second of my trip to Tibet.
Here is my routing : Lhassa Gyantse Shigatse Lathse Samye monastery Everest Namtso Lake. Ganden Sakya monastery |

MyHollyDay Mon Jun 4, 2007 11:00 UTC Nice photo of namtso lake! I was trying to decide whether to go to ebc or namtso. Seems like you have been to both. What would you think base on scenery? Oh, got to thank you for the tip on bringing poncho. Sounds like a must for trips outside of Lhasa. | Helga67 Wed Jan 31, 2007 08:20 UTC Wonderful pics and good tips. I will especially keep your "packing list tip" in mind when visiting Tibet this autumn. :-) | Confucius Mon Nov 13, 2006 16:59 UTC Gyantse is spelled as "Gyangze" in the VT database. Maybe you can create a new page there with your dzong tip? | drolkar Thu Jun 15, 2006 09:31 UTC Thanks for your reply... We'll see what I manage to come up with! In the meantime - great opening photo of the Tibetan women !! "Le toit du monde" must be amazing to visit... |
