is it really worthy ??? and other Petra, Jordan Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

Basically, when you go to Petra, you are supposed to be out most of the day, leaving at 07.00 and coming back after 6 pm so why staying in such an expensive place ??
Nevertheless, I stayed there in winter and I was very happy to have an efficient heating system in my room !!!!
That only worth the 60 JOD I spent for the night.

I stayed there in April 2005, one single room (king size bed) for the fair price of 12 JOD + 3 JOD for the breakfast.
The hotel is a bit out of town but there are shuttles bus to Petra.

Unique Qualities: Cheap price,
decent room with terrace but no fridge,
Turkish bath (for 12 JOD including massage !),
parking place in front of the hotel,
quiet area and good atmosphere,
Internet café (15 min = 1 JOD)

Stay there in Feb. 2007. My stay was ok, get a twin bed despite the fact the hotel was empty and I asked for a double bed ! At least it was kind of twin queen.
The location of the hotel is up to the hill so you need some transport to go down and up to the site. I guess the hotel has some shuttle bus a fixed time of the day.
Price was moreless ok, I paid about 55 JOD ++ which makes it approx 66 JOD or 95 USD but if you want to use the spa, you need to add some extra money, smth like 15 JOD.
The restaurant is not really good for dinner and the breakfast is ok but nothing special for a Marriott.
The pool is not that big !
Next time, I would stay in Movenpick !

Unique Qualities: Location if you have your own wheels.
Price if you compare to Movenpick.
