It was good in 2003 ! and other Amman, Jordan Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

I stayed there in March - April 2003 just after my evacuation from Baghdad.
I guess I spent something like 50 nights there and it was very ok especially for the price I was charged (35 JOD inclding breakfast).
Short after my departure, Le Bristol became a kind of place to stay for UN people, Mideast business traveller, ...
I was told the prices have increased sharply up to 65 JOD !!!

Never stay there but I was taken for a tour early 2004.
The rooms were Sheraton Std and look clean and new. The view from the window can be impressive but due to traffic, probably impossible to keep the window open !
Great bathroom and bedding (I guess ...)

Unique Qualities: Good pool and gym facilities
Comfortable bedding
NIce bathroom (the one of your room of course !!!)
Ok location
In 2004, this hotel won a Mideast price but cannot remember which one !
Choice of restaurant in the hotel or in the surroundings

Never stay there but was taking on a tour by one of the mktg manager in April 2004 (BTW I get free lunch ... lol).

The rooms are ok but more average than exceptional, the bathroom is really std ! nothing more than necessary in the standard rooms !

The view from the rooms can be breath-taking as the location of the hotel is unbeatable, the higher, the better.

FYI, the hotel looks like the Babel Tower and is seen from nearly everywhere in Amman !

Facilities are ok but as this hotel is Arab travellers oriented male and female can be separated !

Beware this hotel is a +++++++ as they charge you for everything you may believe it is included (like breakfast). Make sure about the price !

I stayed there a couple of nights in 2002.
The rooms are smaller than average which is not convenient at all. They probably have a european size but well, we are in Mideast where a "small" room is 25 mē ++.
The service is very average too and the hotel concierge managed to lost one of my luggage I asked him to store in the cloakroom. Never get any compensation for that.
I paid 35 JOD for a night including breakfast. I guess it is now at least 50 JOD but it's not worth it !

I only stayed there 2 nights in June 2003.
The room I was given was a bit gloomy and not well designed.
It was clean but not "bright".
The decoration was basic with a bit of "mauvais gout".
The swimming pool was not operating.
If I remember well I paid 40 JOD including breakfast. I guess by now (2005) the price must be at least 50 if not 60 JOD

A friend of mine stayed there in May 2005 and was very pleased with this hotel.
He was happy with the room, the facilities, the service and upmost, the price.

I think he paid 25 or 30 JOD a night including breakfast.

The hotel is located right in Abdali station, which can be very convenient if you have to move around by public transport.

My friend did not mention anything about the potential noise coming from the bus/taxi station.

Visited a friend who stays always there while in Amman.
The hotel is brand new and the rooms are up to Intl std. Quite nice but a bit "plain" to my taste.
Moreover, I do not like the location but it's just my opinion.

Did not stay here but some friends told me that everything here is average.
The room are old but still ok, very basic gym, no pool.
You should no pay more than 65 USD !!

Unique Qualities: I guess the price is affordable.
Good restaurants around (except peking !!).

Did not stay there but put some guests in May 2007.
The rooms are ok but it is better to be located on the high floors not only for the view but to avoid the ugly roof which is at the third floor level.
usually the service is ok, the check-in is hassle free and the billing correct !
As it was for a fair, the prices have increased but I am usually charged 95 JOD ++ for a single with breakfast
