Aegina is an island close to Athens and easily reachable from Piraeus harbour by ferries and fast hydrofoil boats.

This place is a paradise! I discovered it during a week's stay in Athens in 2001, when I visited Aegina for one day with some friends. Great weather, nice blue sea, friendly people, ancient monuments make this place a paradise!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Very nice island, blue sea, beaches, ancient monuments, close to Athens
Cons:Tap water has a bad taste
