Chapters: Dublin's biggest independent bookstore

Of course it wouldn't be a travel page of mine without a tip about a bookstore! I didn't have that much time to go book shopping while I was in Dublin, but when I spotted Chapters as I was walking down Parnell Street, I couldn't resist going in (well, Dublin's own Oscar Wilde did write that "the best way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it", and so I did!). Chapters offers an amazing selection of new and secondhand books, as well as a large bargain section. It was perfect for me since I usually find that books are too expensive to buy in Europe - this time, even after the conversion of Euros into Canadian dollars, I was still able to find a few good deals.

What to buy: After a week of hearing about Beckett, Shaw, Joyce, Wilde & Co., you might be tempted to increase your collection of Irish novels :o)

What to pay: Secondhand books are sold at about half the original price.
