| Tina stuck her head out to put postcard up of Kili |
We drove along past the town of Moshi which is the gateway to Mt Kilimanjaro and the national park. On the day we went through, though not far away Mt Meru was quite easy to see... Kili was shrouded in cloud. We could only see the tips of its peaks out the top of the cloud so we didn't really get much photo opportunity. It is supposedly a cheap option for climbers about to take on the mountain to base themselves. The word Moshi means "smoke" in Swahili, and it was a shame that on the day we passed through Kili was covered in smoke like cloud. Our tour guide did rather amusingly plant a postcard of it on the front window whilest driving through the hatch giving us all a laugh and idea of what we were missing out on. |
