"Chitimba" Chitimba by Zanzibargirl

Chitimba Beach Campsite was the first stop on the lake for my group as we headed through Malawi. As the truck pulled into the campsite down the dirt path kids came out from the reeds. Peering through them, over the fences, waving. One boy shouted "hello" in their local language. They shyly smiled through the fence and we came into the campsite and parked for the night.

Located right on the beachlike lake Chitimba seemed to be like these children. Peering out from the sun the scenery around just melted into amazing sunrises and sunset. The dirt/sandy beach made a very comfortable bed for the night thats for sure. I think it would have to be the most incredible sunset I have ever seen. Pure magic. Enticing me when I bought Malawi artifacts the next couple of days to buy a wooden mask of a sun god and my Malawi chair has a sun rising between the Giraffe's.

I think Chitimba would have to be one of the most beautiful places in the world!
