The pillow stop

The town of Eldoret, with a population of approximately 105,000 was the place of a night stop over on the way to and from Uganda. I will always remember it as a pillow stop, as I didnt have one, and on realising that sleeping for several weeks without one was going to be very painful, its local "Shoprite" was my saviour... For the rest of the trip I had a fantastic full size pillow to rest my weary head.

We stayed at the Naiberi River Campsite, about 22km southeast of town in our tents and the one thing you should be aware of is the cold here. It rained that night, we froze and I was not at all prepared for Africa getting that cold. But something as you creep towards the equator, all should be aware of.

Pros and Cons

  • Cons:got cold and wet... brrrr
