Place for a Pint

Daly Waters is a very small town which is perfect for a lunch pitstop at the pub on your way down from Darwin to the Alice. Located 588 km from Darwin it is home to a population of about only 35 people.

In the area you can visit not only the roadhouse pub (which is well known and one of Australias remote coolest outback pubs that couldnt get further from anywhere hence the fresh cold beer really goes down well in the heat of a northern territory day) but the nearby Daly Waters Airstrip which was once a refuelling stop and also got used in World War 2 as an airforce military base. The town though small is worth a look around with the old dirt dusty roads of the outback, tin roofed shacks and old style petrol pump transporting you seemingly back in time. Or you can visit nearby Stuarts Tree.

The pub though is of course the highlight, with its stickered walls, hub cap ash trays and money and items displayed from around the world you cant go through this town without sitting down and having a chat to the bar man and a sip of good aussie beer outback style. Cheers.
