Spent four days in Birmingham with a friend who's in a PhD program there. Birmingham surprised me with its urban offerings and laid-back, calm feel. The traffic is smooth and the people friendly. I'll definitely be back a few more times in the next couple years.

I love food and I love how you love it! Kalahari Quiche sounds fantastic and makes me curious for more such pearls among your gourmet tips. Where can I find that Mongolia Herring Shake on your page?

Yes, mature Bamboo can be very "imposing" especially when it towers over you at 15 meters in height as we saw in Trinidad & Tobago, but it is still beautiful.
