Venice needs to be savoured.... slow and easy.... | St Mark's in the evening... |
In this age of high-speed madness, when a lunch can be a burger, fries and coke and man wants to get from one place to another in as little time as possible, Venice stands out as a lovely laidback place.
Full of tourists at most times of the year, this shouldn't deter you from taking a relaxing stroll by the Grand Canal or for that matter any of the bylanes, with that special someone in your life.
Sit by those exhorbitantly priced cafes at St Mark's Square or look for any cozy cafe at any of the other piazzas, sip a glass of wine and look into your lover's eyes. Walk by the canals when the city lights up at night and yet there's that element of darkness, and an excitement runs through your veins. That's the way to experience Venice, in my humble opinion.
But I, being the typical tourist and having gone there with my colleagues at work, had no such luck. Drank wine, yeah but look into someone's eyes. No !!! ha ha ha. But one day, surely I will be there again.... And that day is gonna come real soon. |
