Lisbon is one of my favourite cities in the world, I have been there loads of times and love to just walk through the narrow streets of the city, walk along the Tagus river (rio Tejo) and have dinner in one of the many fine restaurants. My favourite area is the Bairro Alto. This is also known as the trendy / gay area of the city. Lots of nice bars and great restaurants. Alfama is close and thats an old mourish area with the Castle of Saint George (Castelo de S. Jorge) on top of the hill. Lisbon was built on 7 hills all facing the river. Lisbon is also modern, especially the area of Expo 98 along the river is really nice. Lisbon is a place one should definately go. |
