Colonial Williamsburg could easily be dismissed as a tacky tourist trap, if it weren't for one thing - it's the real deal. America's most faithfully restored and maintained historical site draws hordes of people at all times, but, as usual, if you go midweek and/or offseason you'll have a much more relaxing experience.
