The tallest Mountain in Japan, peaking at 3776 km tall. And I CLIMBED the whole thing. Took about 9 hours to go up and 5 hours to go down and even though it was exhausting it was amazing too!
The Japn. say "You're a FOOL if you don't clim Fuji once, but an even bigger FOOL if you climb it twice!"
I think I'll follow that saying! :)
The biggest city on the Sea of Japan and now my new home for at least one year. So far, it's fantastic. Hot, but nice. It's big enough to enjoy seeing museums and parks on the weekend, so I'm lucky!
More to come...
There was this AMAZING summer fireworks festival held here Aug.2-3,2005. Over 20,000 fireworks lasting for 2 hours. I heard about the same # of people were there as fireworks (or "hana-bi" here in Japan), but I saw the largest firework blasted at 700m wide, NICE!
The golden gondola sunsets...the gorgeous Italian men....the expensive jewel-encrusted carnival masks...Aww, I miss it so much already! I could never get tired of Italy, Venice especially. I don't miss the mosquitoes though, that I could defiantly do without (check out my Venice page and you'll see what I mean)..
With the Greek Olympics going on this past summer, I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity of seeing some famous Greek statues in the Louvre. Of course, now I feel kind of bad for taking this picture considering that touching the statues was more than likely not part of the tour, but what’s done is done and well…it became a great memory!
Some friends and I took the Norte Dame Towers tour which was…amazing! We went early in the morning, so it was a wonderful way to begin our Paris trip. We got the see the main bell tower, with the actual Bell (which really scared me senseless since I'm not a fan of tall wooden staircases that are very…very HIGH up) Warning! Watch your step esp. on the stone flooring...my friend Sarah took a hard fall down some stairs and because of that mishap she was nicknamed Quasimodo for the rest of the trip.
As by now (if you've been reading like the good VT fans you are) you should know...
I LOVE VENICE!!!
This was just another great Venetian shot from my evening serenade gondola ride.
The Eifel twinkles for 10 mins. on the top of every hour after dark, course we missed the first two times it went off (1st time eatting in the 1st floor's cafe and 2nd time actually riding up the elevator to the top as they were going off) Luckily right before we left, I caught this photo. 3rd time a charm! :)
