Only this view reminded me of Italy. This small family run winery built as an Italian villa was just beautiful. Visiting Walla Walla for the purpose of visiting the wineries should probably best be done in 3 days. We did what we could in 2 and if you were paying for a tour you could probably do what you wanted to do in one. You can divide the area up into 4 areas, west of town, south of town, and east of town. The fourth being the wineries in town itself which is where you should stay so you can explore the other areas first and then finish in town on foot. There are over 90 wineries in this fast growing area and accomadation has not kept up with the growth. The wines are excellent by the way. It is very laid back and you are just as likely to meet the owner or the vintner as you taste the wines. |
