Dingle and the penninsula

We arrived by bus, got a B&B right down the street from the bus stop, went to a few pubs, had a wonderful breakfast, had a beautiful day, saw Fungi the town mascot. I guess in the summer Dingle is crazy with tourists but in January it is perfect.

Fungi

Fungi has lived in the Dingle harbor since 1983. He is the pride of the town. Evidently they found a female dolphin dead that year and then Fungi showed up and stayed in the harbor. They do not know if it was his mother or his mate (or maybe they make up the whole story for tourism sake) Anyway, this is a bronze statue of Fungi by the tourist office.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Quiet and friendly town in January
Cons:I guess that does not apply in summer
In a nutshell:We had a great time.

Harbor master Things to Do (1)

We probably would not have gone for the touristy boat trip for 32 euros on most occasions. Today however was different.... more travel advice

There's a prison in D. Lodge? Probably why it still exists - that and Warmsprings Mental Hospital. Came back to your Dingle pages. Great town.
