San Gimignano

by EllenH - last update: Jul 11, 2004

A hazy day in tuscany
A very typical view of the Tuscan countryside.

walk around the town of towers

There are paintings everywhere, it is a beautiful town but if you could imagine a medieval shopping mall....thats where you are at. Nice shops mind you but shops it is, wine shops, leather shops, souvenier shops.

San Gimignano brings great memories for me...we had a delightful time there during an Italian holiday...filled with wonderful locals, superior food, and tons of fun.

I don't think we would ever visit San G. Tourist factor is the key word.

Some of the white wines made in San Gimignano are some of the best drinking wines I have ever tasted. The funny thing is you can buy them anywhere and they don't cost anymore than from the wine vendors locally. Tourist factor, indeed. Ciao. Bill.
