We landed without a plan, just a car and a basic idea of what we wanted to do and what was available and interesting to do. Thank you VTers for that information. We started and ended in Zagreb and drove where the road and ferries took us. In late Septmber and early October this is not a problem and the weather was outstanding. We had 11 days in the country to explore.

kitties rule this seafood restaurant

We ate some amazing seafood including Octopus salad which I never would have thought but it was quite delicious. We stayed in Sobes everynight for approximately $45 and each one was prettier then the last. we never had trouble finding one available although in summer I would not recommend this mode of travel.

Niksa and Boris

There are excellent pages on Vt that gave us alot of information to take with us and anyone going for the first time should spend some time on those pages researching. I guarantee it will be worth it. We were lucky enough to meet up with two of those wonderful people on the end of our trip and got a very nice tour of Zagreb, a city on my own I would have been very intimidated by, but with them it was a very interesting and beautiful city.

Close to Zagreb airport Hotels (1)

I include this as a tip because this hotel is 5 minutes at the most from Zagrebs' airport. It is in the much smaller... more travel advice

Fab pics Ellen, you certainly did some travelling in your time in Croatia. I tried octopus in Rovinj, just the once though.

Beautiful pictures of Croatia! Was there for a very short time in 2008 and will visit Split in 2011.

I love that cat photo on the front page Ellen :o) I wouldn't want to jump from those rocks into the water like the kids were doing either!! Enjoyed the read :o) Cheers, Ann.
