I am constantly in search of 'the good (night) life' and, even on somewhat secluded New Caledonia, there were places to go and people to meet. But, honestly, it was much better to just sit out in front of my bungalow, watch the waves, have a fruit juice (for about 300 to 500 NCFrancs), and relax. That is what New Caledonia is all about -- relaxing and taking it slow and easy. One sad point -- it seems that even in secluded New Caledonia, the curse of karaoke has arrived and it can be heard (quite clearly!) just about everywhere there is a bar/club. If you can sing, please do everyone a favour and grab the mic from the people that can't but always do!!

Dress Code: You are in the tropics and, for that matter, in the middle of nowhere and it's 'beach-bum heaven'. Dress-code?? Just, for everyone else's sake, wear a shirt and shorts and have a good time......
Directions: Here, there and everywhere...but you are gonna have to look for them a little. But, honestly, that is the beauty of New Caledonia -- you have to look around to find a bar...and everywhere else is 'nat
