Nightlife Spot: Moulin Rouge

On our trip to Paris in February 2004 we decided to take in a show at the Moulin Rouge.

Booking was very simple; we did it on line on the official web site. There is plenty of information there. Prices are for the show with or without a meal but you get champagne with either option. It is quite expensive. The show alone is over E90.

If you are only in Paris for a few days try and book early as you may not get your first choice of performance.

There were a variety of performers, the costumes were lovely and it was entertaining.
However, Mick was a bit disappointed that they didn’t make the Can Can more of a feature. He expected them to make it a big finale at the end of the show.

It is quite a large room and you will be shown to a table shared by several other people. If you are unlucky and aren’t seated first you will be craning your neck to see past the person nearer to the stage every time they move.

My opinion on the whole would be, Nice show but expensive and not anything I haven’t seen before. If you want better value for money, go to Majorca and spend an evening at Son Amar. The show is as good, half the price and you get a meal and wine thrown in.
